Discovering Vaanya Diva
Vaanya Diva is a South London–born singer, songwriter and self-produced artist creating music that sits between pop, dance and soul. Her music is driven by strong songwriting, emotional honesty and a lifelong love of electronic music, bringing together melody, rhythm and storytelling.
Vaanya’s musical journey began in the early 2000s, when her love of lyricism led to collaborations with producers across the electronic music scene. In 2003, she made her breakthrough with “Bad Day,” an acid house release with Fourth Island, opening the door to a growing career as a vocalist and songwriter.
In 2004, Vaanya joined Feelgood Productions, an Italian collective at the forefront of the Asian Underground movement. She performed to audiences across Europe, including at the Turin Winter Olympics, where she shared the stage with Duran Duran. Her work with DJs and producers around the world later led to a collaboration with acclaimed DJ and producer Get Far, resulting in the global dance anthem “Free,” released in 2010.
But while collaborating with other artists, Vaanya increasingly wanted to take ownership of her own creative direction. She wanted to understand every part of the process — from the first lyric and melody to the finished record. So she taught herself music production, learning the skills needed to finally make music on her own terms.
That journey has brought her to where she is today.
Vaanya is now writing, producing and independently releasing her own music, with four self-produced tracks already released and more music coming throughout 2026. Her current sound draws from pop, dance and soul, combining infectious melodies and electronic production with lyrics that explore identity, relationships, self-perception and the experiences that shape us.
For Vaanya, this isn't about following a particular trend or trying to fit into someone else's idea of what an artist should be. After more than two decades as a songwriter and vocalist, stepping into production later in her career has given her something she always wanted: creative freedom.
Her music is personal, but it's also made to be shared — songs that can make you think, feel, move and, hopefully, recognise something of yourself in them.
Built from scratch. Performed from the soul.
